 History
On April 28, 1950, Edna Groff wrote Sadie Greenleaf a letter suggesting the Farm Women begin a local community fair. The parade has always been a favorite of many at the fair. Last year, Dean Wert was the grand marshal of the parade. Click here for past marshals. After 10 years, Jeff Minnich, of Solanco Video, stepped down as chairman of the parade. In 2006, Rick Prettyman became the parade chairman. Each year, the eighth graders at Swift and Smith Middle Schools compete to design the cover for the fair book. Click here for past designers.
